Birthday for David!

And to conclude our crazy month, David had his 12th birthday on Sunday! It was a great day celebrated with family and friends. He was able to receive the priesthood and be ordained to a Deacon right on his birthday. It was such a special experience and I am thrilled to have 2 priesthood holders in my home. I can't believe he is 12! Where did the time go? I went from a brand-new mom with no clue what to do, to a mother of 5 still struggling to figure out what I'm supposed to be doing, in 12 short years.

From the pictures you can see that David is a true son to Tom, with sports being the theme for many of his gifts. He got a Chargers blanket for his bed (and we will paint his bedroom in Chargers blue and gold), a Jazz jersey, and a new CD player with a digital tuner so he can get better reception for the Jazz games (next year since they're out of the playoffs now). Thanks Grandma and Grandpa and Wendell for the great gifts!
We are so grateful to have David in our family. He is a great example to the 4 younger kids. He works so hard! He was my right-hand man throughout the backyard project. He was worth another man during the whole process, including loading and unloading tree limbs onto the trailer, ripping up junk trees, and lifting the heavy sod and placing it right where it needed to be. Whenever Grandpa is here working, David is right by his side, and loving every minute. He is quick to do what is asked and is a good influence in our home. Happy Birthday, David!!!!

So now I am caught up on the adventures of April at our house. Most of it was wonderful and good, and thankfully Mikinna's injury wasn't as bad as it could have been. Now if we can get rid of the returning snow, we can enter into the last month of school and enjoy Spring!
