May activities for the kids...

With May being the last month of school, the kids had lots of fun activities and events they were part of. We were running from one place to another, and that was before we started baseball games. First up was Mikinna in the "Hope of America" presentation. This is an amazing production that gets put on each year in conjunction with America's Freedom Festival. They have hundreds (or maybe thousands) of elementary school children participate. Most are in the chorus (seen in the background) and sing lots of songs. Our 3rd and 4th graders came down onto the floor and sang two numbers. This picture was from the dress rehearsal and you can see Mikinna in the middle of the front, she's the one with the plaid shorts (from the boy's department, of course). We weren't able to make it to the nighttime production, but the dress rehearsal was amazing and brought tears to my eyes.
David participated in his 4th and final Hershey's Track Meet. He placed in his first heat, and then was eliminated in the second. I thought that was pretty good, especially since he's one of the shortest his age. There were boys there that were 8 inches taller than him, which means they were taller than me. Wow!

Mikinna also did Hershey Track, but I didn't get a picture to post. She was more interested in the long jump and softball throw than she was in the running.

Brianna had her year-end dance recital where she did a great job of looking too old for her age. She also had a lot of fun and showed a lot of improvement during the 10 months she's been taking dance lessons. In the second picture, she's the one in the front.

And finally, we had David's 6th grade graduation. He is now done with elementary school and will head off to Junior High. Are we really old enough to have a Junior High School student? Tom is, but I don't know about me :)
