Fun in the Sun!

Tom is lucky enough to not only have a good job, but one with rewards. This year the reward for the top salespeople was a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We spent Friday and Monday traveling, which left Saturday and Sunday for fun. We learned on a previous trip to play hard on Saturday, and relax hard on Sunday. So Saturday we took a taxi into town with a group of friends and went on an excursion. We spent over an hour going on 14 different ziplines! The longest was 1/4 of a mile, and the highest one was 700 feet in the air. It was awesome!!!! I love stuff like that. Here are some pictures of us on the first zipline, before we got hot and sweaty from hiking from line to line.

At the bottom, there was a bar with tequila for everyone (standard all over Mexico) and since we didn't partake, we wandered around and found an area with some animals to interact with. I left the tarantulas alone (I HATE spiders!) and we ended up in the cage with some cute little monkeys. Here's my favorite picture of one eating from my hand. So cute! Tom managed to get both monkeys to come to him, even without any food. Then Tom was brave enough to go in the cage with two other animals. I forgot to take a picture of the sign, so I don't know what the animals were, but they were related to raccoons, and looked like anteaters. He managed to get one to cuddle up with him and fall asleep. This picture was after we opened the door for a good picture and it woke the animal up. So cute (but he did stink after that).

We then took some time to shop. The men were patient, and 3 women managed to shop in just over an hour! It helped that we ran out of cash :) . This picture is walking along the boardwalk where there were lots of statues and some sand sculptures. We then had dinner at a great restaurant called PiPi's where Tom's fluent Spanish got us right into a table. They made the BEST guacamole ever right at your table, from scratch. YUM! There was even an authentic band wandering around the restaurant.

Sunday was spent relaxing along the beach and on our balcony. Here is a shot of the view from the balcony, and one of the forest and waterfall in the interior of the hotel. It was a great weekend! Thanks to Tom's company. And more importantly, thanks to Mom and Dad and Clint and Natilee for watching all 5 of the kids! They had as much fun as we did!
